Definition: Field Reacting Adaptive Construct Technology (FRACT)  is a hybrid nano-system used by Anthara society for weapons, armor, structures, and adaptive equipment.

Nature of FRACT

FRACT is built from bio-mechanical nanobots. Each unit has low-level, distributed intelligence that interprets resonance signals and executes instructions. FRACT responds to resonance signatures from authorized users for authentication. It recognizes only users of Anthara origin.

Research to open FRACT usage to other species is ongoing. Currently, non-Anthara personnel interact with FRACT-based systems via voice command and digital interface aboard Celes.

Operation

FRACT elements hold a library of preset shapes, functions, or textures. For example, weapons shift between preset modes, and armor or clothing change style or texture. When an authorized user emits the correct resonance pattern, FRACT reads it and executes the corresponding program. Users can access only the pre-programmed options.

Resonant Interaction

Some resonants can interact with FRACT beyond its preset programs. Instead of just triggering stored functions, they influence, reshape, or redirect FRACT behavior by projecting modified signals. This requires extreme skill and control. Most resonants find it uncomfortable, and only a few attempt it.

FRACT under a skilled resonant can perform actions not planned by its designers, from unorthodox weapon configurations to spontaneous structural changes.

Limitations: FRACT equipment in active resonance synchronization with its authorized user, such as worn armor, weapons, or suits, is highly resistant to external override. To reshape or disable such material, a resonant must create a temporary mental breach into the user’s psyche, disrupting their focus and resonance output. The success of this interference depends on the target’s mental stability, focus, and emotional state.

Role in Anthara Society

FRACT is a cornerstone of Anthara tech: weapons, ships, suits, and even some infrastructure rely on it for adaptive performance.

Its hybrid nature allows for self-repair, morphing, and high-speed reconfiguration in the field.
